Allen Alvarado

  

Allen Alvarado was a patient at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles at age 11 after he was struck by a car as a pedestrian. He suffered from severe bleeding and swelling of the brain and spent one week in a coma in CHLA’s PICU. When he woke up, he had virtually no functionality in the left side of his body due to extensive brain injuries. Allen moved into the rehab wing, where he spent the next three weeks relearning how to sit, walk and use his left hand and arm.

After one month at CHLA, Allen surprised everyone by walking out of the hospital without assistance. He has since made a full recovery!

Allen has been a professional actor since age four. He has appeared in a number of films and television shows, most commonly recognized for his portrayal of “Lex” on The Discovery Channel’s “Flight 29 Down.” he plans on continuing his acting career while pursuing his interest in music. Currently a sophomore in high school in Burbank CA, Allen hopes to attend the Musician’s Institute for guitar when he graduates in 2014.
