FAQ

Do I have to be a good dancer to participate in DM?
NO! Participating in Dance Marathon does NOT require any previous dance experience or talent. We will teach all kinds of dance moves and we want to learn some new ones too! You simply need a big heart for the kids and the desire to have tons of fun!

Why should I have to stay all 12 hours?
We ask the dancers to make a real effort to stay all 12 hours because Dance Marathon is for the kids. We dance for the patients in the hospital and raise money to support their struggles and ability to survive incredible tests with strength and spirit.  While it may seem tiring or hard to stand and dance for so long, we do it because there are some kids that can’t. Please show your support and stay the whole time!

Who are the CHLA Miracle Children?

The Miracle Children are several amazing kids or teens whose lives have been saved by the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Thanks to CHLA, these kids have survived through some of the worst experiences – BUT, they live to inspire us and share with us the amazing things they are able to do today. Don’t be afraid to go up and talk to them! They are here as living proof of how resilient the human body can be and how great hospitals like CHLA are in supporting the full recovery of its patients.

How much money should I raise, and how?
We ask all individual participants to raise as much money as they can! Every penny counts.  You can raise money by asking friends, family members, or local businesses to donate.  As we get closer to Dance Marathon, we’ll keep track of your funds and the more money you raise, the more chances you’ll have at winning fantastic prizes.

Is my donation to Trojan DM tax deductible?
